Chief Robert L. Pavone (Ret.)
Special Assistant to the President

As a professional law enforcement officer for over thirty-four years, Bob Pavone attained the civil service rank of Chief of Police and has been involved in founding, organizing and directing several organizations. As a leader with each of these law enforcement organizations, it was Bob's mission to protect police officer rights by enhancing the law enforcement profession, while continuing to protect the public community to which we all so proudly serve.

Bob Pavone is the founder and President Emeritus of the New York Police Chiefs Benevolent Association. He is the founder and President Emeritus of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #154. Bob is also the former Vice-President of the New York Statewide Fraternal Order of Police Empire Lodge.

During his career, Bob Pavone formed the Town of Cortlandt PBA and when the Town’s police services and personnel were transferred to the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, he sued the municipality for violation of civil rights on behalf of himself and the department members, resulting in a 1.9 million dollar settlement and an additional $800,000.00 in his personal compensation.

As Special Assistant to the UFOP International President, Bob is the appointed representative to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund & Museum (NLEOMF) and has served with distinction in this capacity since 2010. As one of the original founding members of the NLEOMF, the United Federation of Police Officers, Inc. (UFPO) has taken a leadership role in the construction and development of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund & Museum, which will open in the Fall of 2018.

Bob Pavone is also Chairman of the Board of New York State Crime Stoppers and CEO of the New York Police Chiefs Foundation. He was appointed a Special Deputy with the California Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

As a New York Police Officer, Bob Pavone was a graduate of both the Recruit Police Academy and the Supervisory Police Academy, as well as a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session #165. He also has an Associate in Criminal Justice Certificate from the University of Virginia.

As an ardent supporter of law enforcement, Bob Pavone has been an active advocate for his fellow members of the United Federation of Police Officers (UFPO) and is a frequent guest and contributor on FOX Cable news, television and radio.

Bob Pavone has a long list of law enforcement officers in his family, including his two sons (a County Police Sergeant and his youngest, a Village Police Officer), two uncles (a United States Marshal and a New York State Trooper), a nephew (a Village Police Officer), as well as a cousin who is an NYPD Officer.

The Pavone family has a proud and dedicated history of public service, including Bob’s wife and daughter who are also Civil Servants and it appears that tradition will continue as Bob and his wife have six (6) grandchildren.
