SEAN R. MCARDLE

   Mr. McArdle is an experienced and knowledgeable labor leader who has achieved success in every aspect of his labor career. He served several years as a representative for an International Brotherhood of Police Officers, before joining New England Police Benevolent Association in 2005. He also served as a Regional Vice President of NEPBA from 2008 – 2014 before becoming the Regional Director for Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont. Mr. McArdle has represented over 100 different law enforcement locals, in several different states during his career in the labor movement.

    In January 2014, Sean R. McArdle was elected to a five (5) year term as the President of the International Union of Public Employees (UFPO Local 1000). In December 2017, Sean was elected to a five (5) year term as the International Secretary-Treasurer of the United Federation of Police Officers, Inc. (UFPO).

    As an experienced negotiator, Sean has achieved tremendous contractual success for those locals he has represented over the years and has vast knowledge in all aspects of labor relations including: grievances, arbitration hearings and disciplinary matters. Sean has successfully negotiated over a hundred contracts with cities and towns. He has extensive knowledge in interest arbitration, mediation and fact-finding. He is considered an expert in the field of law enforcement labor relations. As a member of the New England PBA, Sean focused his attention on representing the law enforcement locals in the States of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. He has also done a remarkable job recruiting, organizing and training law enforcement local throughout New England.

    Sean earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a minor in Business Management. He also attended training courses and seminars in Rights of Police Officers, Internal Affairs, Use of Force, Massachusetts Civil Service, and Collective Bargaining for Public Safety Personnel, Health Insurance. He has also received training at the National Labor College-George Meaney Center in Washington D.C.

Sean has also held many leadership roles in political campaigns and other nonprofit organizations, including state regional and national office in the ELKS.
